First off, I personally would not even try to target Steelhead at this time of year unless you enjoy fishing very hard for only a couple or worse none. Also, you wont
be doing them any favors with the water being so warm with very low oxygen levels. You most probably would unintentionally kill them.

If I was to target them I would be fishing the normal transitional resting, holding locations as they have to rest as they transition up the river like any other fish. In the
last 6 days of guiding we have not touched a brown or Steelhead. We have not been targeting them either. Everyday we have either hooked into Coho's or Kings.

I'd be looking for them in the heat. Fast water that is more oxygenated.

Both fly zones are holding a few Steelhead presently.

In 4 to 8 weeks, look for them to be 3 - 5 feet of rippled water directly below any spawning fish. They will not be in the holes until Winter Time.

Of course there are exceptions to everything I've just written.
