Since the water dropped down to less than 350 CFS, It's running around 185 CFS now I think the fishing for Ironheads has really slowed down considerably. The bulk of the action Saturday was Altmar Chuck and dunk area, the Miracle Mile from Altmar Bridge to Ellis Cove, upper Trestle to the William Perry (fridge) hole just about exclusively in the FAST water areas. The fish were really packed up due to the lack of water in the river. Northa and south sandy are still producing a few rainbows and BLACK River is also pumping out some nice steelies. The Big Story is OSWEGO, the Emerald City where the pen-raised steelies are making an excellent showing along with domestic rainbows and browns. As we floated by the curve below Altmar bridge at the straightaway above the barrel hole I saw one of the largest steelhead I have ever seen in the riffles on the southside bank which I conservatively estimate at TWENTY-EIGHT POUNDS. It spooked upriver as we drifted by and just about ran aground and beached itself. If somebody lands this fish, we will have a new NYS record guaranteed. I gave up on my Henderson Harbor slammer Whitetail and shot a nice Forkhorn today during the southern zone shotgun season. Looking forward to KANSAS whitetails next. Good shooting, hunting and fishing to you. walleyed out. And by the way, no, trout ticklers....there are no secret spots left. You do, still have to know when to be there. And from the looks of the deserted streams we still fish, loaded with nice trout of brown and rainbow, most still have'nt got it right yet. That's why 99.999999% of the fish are still caught by 1/2 of 1% of the In-fishermen. Got one on right now!!!ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ splish/splash
