The slush was horrible in some places due to the dawn temperature of 15 degrees at Port Ontario. We went out early anyway and found a little waterfalls that kept it (the slush) broken up pretty good so we could slip our egg bags beneath the surface with a little extra weight added. After about three throws in the trees with the floats and two snags on the rocky gravel/rubble bar we finally got it into the right slot, the float traveled 10 feet, and promptly jerked cleanly beneath the surface. 10 minute elapsed before we slid the net under a Metallic chrome sow weighing twelve pounds. At 9:30am, we went to the land of mega-slushpuppys and started hucking spawn bags between the rafts of freezing creek water. By 1:00pm we were five for five and on our way out. I took a couple of casts at a pool on the way out and locked up with something out of Jurrassic Park. 20 minutes later and 200 yards downstream We netted the Stegasaurus-like Mega-Toad Trout who later tipped Portly Angler IGFA certified scales at #18lbs. 8ozs. and measured 37 1/2" inches with 23" girth. Moi's 2nd whopper so far this month. I'm going to need to build a bigger Trophy room. HA, HE,HE!!!! Good Fishing! Walleyed Out!!!
