Thunder walks away and lays down under his lean-to. He whinnies out of sadness and pain and looks around him. He nickers softly then goes into a light sleep.

*****The next morning*****

Thunder wakes up the next morning in pain. Because it was so dark the night before, Jodie couldn't see the wounds on him. He tries to stand, but every time he does, he falls over again. He's like a new foal learning to stand for the first time. He finaly gets up and walks wobbly over to the fence and whinnies softly for Jodie. He can't stand up anymore and his knees buckle under him. He falls to the ground and whinnies out of pain to Jodie. He has huge wounds where a cougar attacked him the day before. He lays helpless and goes back into a light sleep.
