I like the way Dawn clings to Spike. It fits their relationship at that time and she was traumatized. That would make her vulnerable to the FE. Her trip up the tower and accidentally being blown off fit. I had expected more survivor's guilt from Dawn in s6. This ep shows that and how far it could go with a little help from the FE.

Good touching moments. Giles guilt is good, not over killing Ben, but over losing Buffy. Even with both sources of guilt, I don't think Giles would leave. FE taunting is not why he left in s6. Perhaps you mean that conversation at the end to plant a seed in his mind.

Anya/Cordy was a riot.

Two things different -

1. Dreams of Glory haunt Dawn. This is good 'Lost Episode' stuff that makes sense.

2. The First Evil is shown starting its campaign even before Buffy comes back. This is the one I don't know whether I agree with. FE parts are well written and tell a story. With season 7 as a frame of reference, we can connect to that story. As a stand-alone it's good. If season 6 proceeded with this much of the FE around, it would have been different.

Interesting use of The First, nice storyline.... And some very good two-hander scenes.
