Taking off from the success of DZBB, RBS ventured into television.

On October 29, 1961, TV Channel 7, the THIRD television station in the country, started operations with just 25 employees (other stations had 200), a surplus transmitter and two old cameras.

Channel 7 was always on the brink of bankruptcy and the Stewarts were about to give up when the program "Dancetime with Chito" became a big hit and advertising revenues rolled in. Canned programs like "Combat," "Mission Impossible," "Popeye," "77 Sunset Strip," "The Untouchables," and "Ben Casey" further sustained its success
