Why Vancouver? Well let me tell you:
Reason numero uno: The Vancouver Theatre Sports league (check it out at www.vtsl.com). Great improv shows, group rates (savings of 40%!). They perform on Granville Island, which can be reached by bus, SkyTrain (a subway above the buildings instead of under for a change), or Aquabus ferries. For more improv, the !nstant Theatre Company (www.instanttheatre.com).
Vancouver has a great tourist industry, meaning: hotels galore. Including the Graville Island hotel, a mere walk from the Theatre Sports. Or the BestWestern Downtown, just hop on the Aquabus to Granville Island.
If you have a craving for stand up, there is a YukYuks, (the world's largest chain of comedy clubs).
If you want the Colin Mochrie connection, try to find his old school! Imagine where he might've lived.
With the centrally located hotels, there is no shortage of things to do. Wander around the Graville Island market, go to Gastown, Chinatown or Science World *g*. Explore the wonders of shopping in downtown Vancouver.
this is a more West Coast friendly nomination. And, for our American friends: just think of that Canadain dollar...nice and low for you...you can hear it calling you...
