You have expanded our LFN horizons when we had new episodes of the weekly television series to watch, and given us new and exciting LFN horizons when the new episodes on television ended. You have done this without monetary gain, and at personal cost. I know I speak for others of your deeply appreciative audience of readers by writing this tribute in some small repayment. We would be bereft without you. TO LFN FAN FIC WRITERS WITH GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION You struggle, you juggle, your schedule’s a wreck Your anxiety level is up to your neck Your readers are crying, “Come back,” they implore You give them one chapter, and they want three more. You plot, and you plan, and you think, and you stew Will you go for cannon, or write in AU You’re at your computer, the screen is a blank, you Neglect your poor family, there’s no one to thank you. You start with a sure thing, a French green-eyed stud If trouble befalls him, your name will be mud He must be the hero, a man among men Or else no one ever will read you again. “All right, I will give them a chapter a day I know I can do it,” you naively say Dear author, I warn you, you’d best think this through Skip one day, you’re out of the “Fanfic Who’s Who.” But LFN readers are steadfast and loyal An NC17 scene will raise you to royal But lest you write angst, or keep lovers apart They’ll feather and tar you, and tear out your heart. So, writers of fanfic, just why do you do it? Writing plus real life can sure put you through it You’re getting no money, you’re under the gun The fans ask you, “Lately, so what have you done?” You’ve done the impossible, and you know the cost To give us the stories that we thought were lost Of Michael, Nikita, of Birkoff and Ops Of Walter and Maddy, to us you’re the tops Your skilll and your great dedication to writing Have kept days, with no TV series, exciting For which you’re deserving the highest of praise Excitement and romance is still in our days!
