Subject: Some interesting newsbits on specifications, availability and windbreaker

I got my hands on a new Dutch specifications sheet today and it revealed some interesting bits:

1. The automatic transmission on the 1.6 adds about 2 months to your delivery window

2. The same goes for the auto trans on the 2.0 but only on the Dynamique version. The Authentique and Privilege should be available with it from the getgo though.

My guess is this is because factory planning made an error in ordering the trim ring part that go around the auto trans. One of the demo cars that were on the Dutch boat show was a Dynamique with auto, but it had a trim ring in beige, so it didn't match with the aluminum accents.

3. If you order Xenon lights on an Authentique the bumper inserts are charcoal like on the Dynamique/Privilege, instead of black.

Don't ask me why, but it says so here...

4. If you order the Handsfree Renault card option on an Authentique your door handles will be body coloured, instead of black.

Again, don't ask me why!

5. I've seen the windbreaker in real life today. It's foldable, so it's quite a bit easier to store than the windbreaker on Mégane 1 Cabrio. However... this feature also causes it to be really really really flimsy. However much I like the car, I strive to be honest about things I notice and this windbreaker is not only the flimsiest POS I have ever seen, it also looks a whole lot worse than the one on Mégane 1 which I have always liked for it's sleek design.

My advice to accessory developers... start working on an alternative right away!
