Yes, I agree entirely.

Disappointing but certainly not surprising. Did you expect anything else?!!

The sad thing is that Renault (and all other car manufacturers without exception) will always charge more for cars in the UK than on the Continent.

I read the results of a survey carried out a couple of years ago in the UK where the manufacturers were asked the simple question why they charge so much more in the UK than mainland Europe. The simple and resounding response was "becouse we can".

Regardless of how much the Megane CC costs, the constantly maligned British Public will still pay it.

Why does Audi sell more A4 Cabriolet's in the UK (considering the dismal weather there) than in any other Country in the World when it also carries the highest price tag of any Country in the World.

Becouse us Brits are used to it. The same goes for clothing, houses, fuel, taxes etc.

Some manufacturers cite the conversion to right hand drive as an extra cost, so why can you buy a UK spec right hand drive car from Belgium or Holland for the same price as a left hand drive.

Hence one of my many reasons for my moving to Switzerland is fuel costs the equivilant of 50p a litre, the cars are much cheaper... and the best part... those Mountain Roads are just awesome to somebody who loves driving which sweetens the pill of the cost of the car even more!!!

Cheers

Craig
