Subject: MP3 options

There are a zillion MP3 CD playing radios out there now, but only few that use other means of storage. Panasonic has one model that accepts files from an SD card. Both Pioneer and Sony have models that have built in harddrives. But I don't think any of those have an easy copy function through means of USB or firewire. The Sony actually only rips tracks from it's own cd drive and converts them to ATRAC, instead of MP3 before storing them on the HD.

Another option would be any radio with an AUX entry so you can and hook up a mobile MP3 player like an i-Pod. Or check the new Music Keg system from Phat Noise that is sold now by Kenwood. It's basically an MP3 player with a removable hard drive cartridge that uses the CD-changer protocol so you can control it with most Kenwood head units. Very cool system acutally, but like all the above pretty expensive.

So I'd say your best shot is still an MP3 CD-changer. There are several around now. I have bought a 10 disc Sony CDX-757MP in the States this summer and that is actually the best $199 I ever invested in car audio. It goes on forever and it's even cheaper than the 6-disc model Sony sells over here. Too bad they only carry it in Japan and the USA though. But a 6 disc MP3 changer goes a long way also ;)
