If you'll be promming, there will be queues of other prommers around the Hall. Queues go in an hour or 45 minutes before the start of the concert. Join the back of the appropriate queue - there are clear notices around the Hall to guide you but if you are unsure then ask the people around you or one of the Hall stewards (the people in red or blue jackets). Take a cloakroom ticket from a steward if offered one - it denotes your place in the queue.

If you'll be promming and buying your ticket on the door then have £4 in cash with you. Programmes are sold inside and cost an additional £2.50, or £3 if there's a separate libretto.

It can get hot inside the Hall so dress in thin layers and consider taking water or a soft drink in a crushable container. (RAH management consider glass in the promming areas a safety hazard and the stewards will pounce on you if they see any.) Take cough sweets and a handkerchief if you are likely to want to cough.

Expect to have any bags searched on entry. Large bags are best left in the cloakroom.

Again, if you are promming, please respect other people's places in the queue and in the auditorium once you are in. Once you have your promming place that place is yours for the duration of the concert, and that concert only, no matter how long it may be. Put down something distinctive to mark your place if you have to leave it for a moment.

Turn off your mobile 'phone, keep quiet and still during the music, don't applaud until the conductor has put his hands down, and give generously to the Prommers' Musical Charities on your way out.
