Date Posted: 15:26:26 07/06/03 Sun In reply to: Legolas 's message, "Ar-Pharazon" on 15:06:11 07/06/03 Sun Aragorn watched with a sinking heart as the man walked away. ‘No...No he can’t...please..Come back...’ He closed his eyes, hoping when he opened them the man would be back there. “No..Dammit!” Aragorn rammed his fist into the tree, ignoring the hot tears that had started to fall down his cheeks. Aragorn sank down to the ground, hanging his head against the tree. Slowly, he got up. Unclasping his cloak, he softly let it fall to the ground. Quietly, he trudged back to the door. As he pushed it open, only one thing resounded in his head. ‘I lost him...I could have been kinder, let him trust me...But I lost him.’ As Aragorn walked, he found himself in front of the man’s room. He cringed as he looked inside, the food haven been taken away and the bed made. It looked as if there had never been a person thee. ‘Perhaps it is better that way...If I just forget him.’ Sighing, Aragorn slipped into his own room. Not bothering to close to door, he grabbed the top, thin black blanket and wrapped it around his shoulder. Tears were still hot on his face, and angrily, he leaned against the ledge of his window. Looking down, he could see the town below. There were so many people....Looking around, he spotted Legolas just leaving the gates. Sighing, Aragorn turned away from the scene. He wanted to forget the boy, forget the man’s pain, forget his life....But deep inside he wanted to remember more than anything else. Quietly, he sank down in the corner spot between his bed and the wall. His whole body began to shake as he tried to stop the tears from coming out of the sparkling grey eyes. Yet the sparkle was lost. Quietly, he sobbed into the blanket, not wanting anyone to see his weakness. Around an hour later, Aragorn suddenly heard soft, female footsteps. “Master?” Looking up, Aragorn noticed his female, elven slave. “Yes, Arwen?” The female looked down. “Master, I noticed Legolas leaving...” ‘How does she know his name...’ “Yes, Arwen. He did not trust me.” Arwen sat down across from her master, looking him in the eye. “You care for him...You should go after him.” Aragorn looked away, not bothering to reprimand her for speaking out. “He does not want to be here. He would be better of fighting his own battles.” “Master,” the girl’s voice was gentle. “You want to protect him, and forgive me for listening, but I know those men are in the area just as much as you do. If you truly want him to trust you, go help him.” “He doesn’t want me help, Arwen.” “But you want to help him. You saw how insecure he was when he couldn’t get outside.” Aragorn’s head snapped up, and Arwen’s eyes twinkled. “He needs to cling to someone.” Aragorn smiled. “You’re right. Wonderful, wonderful girl!” He leapt to his feet, a smile on his face. “You’re absoulutly right. I can’t let those men do that to him again.” Aragorn’s look became steel. “I’m going to get him back.” With fire at his heels, Aragorn stormed out of the room, through his Castel, and into the town. “Legolas!” He shouted out, even though he knew the other couldn’t hear him. “Legolas!” [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
