My initial thought is this sounds like a desktop issue, as opposed to a Palm issue.

- Did anything happen to the PC recently, such as a system crash, virus, etc. Did you add any new software?
- Is any other data on your PC missing?
- Do you have a back up?
- Do you have Norton Utilities?
