The story of Princess Teharra

The day of her birth was one Yami and her father would never forget. While giving birth to Teharra, their mother died. Yami for along time blamed his mother’s death on Teharra and would ignore her and forget about her all the time on purpose. Six years later because of grief and stress, their father passed away. Yami was only eight and Teharra six. Before their father passed away, his father had Simon, the trusted sorcerer to the family, give young Yami a Millennium Puzzle to help him with future problems to come. From then on Yami realized that his mother’s death was not Teharra’s fault and he knew he had to take care of her no matter what.
From then on he became very protective of her and never let her out of his sight. She felt trapped inside the palace where she lived, and feared she would never be free to do anything she wanted to. Yami and Teharra constantly argued about her conditions and usually Yami won by saying that he was only trying to protect her from the evil that could influence her in bad ways.
One day, at the age of sixteen, Teharra met a great sorcerer named Seto. He was dashingly handsome and his baby blue eyes always made her blush when he looked at her. He was also the proud owner of a Millennium item. He beheld the Millennium Rod. He was quite fond of her as well, and at once they knew that they had found their other half.
Unfortunately, Seto was into power and he wanted more than he had. He followed an evil so terrible that it could have destroyed the earth. But Teharra was so in love, that it blinded her from seeing his evil side and so she only saw the loving passionate side of him.
One day Teharra and Seto had met secretly in her room to talk to each other. This was a day that would change her life forever. Instead of talking they found each other passionately making love on her bed. One article of clothing after another came off when, without warning, her brother walked in on them.
“SETO!” her brother yelled.
Teharra gasped and the two quickly they arranged themselves and Seto stood up still wearing enough so it covered the necessary areas.
“What do you think you are doing with my younger sister?” questioned the Pharaoh.
“I was ....... well what does it look like I was doing, your most noblest?” Seto asked him back with disgust for Yami reflected in his tone of voice.
Before Yami could answer, Teharra wrapped her robes back on her and started to yell at Yami.
“It doesn’t matter what we were doing! Don’t you know how to knock, or did they forget to teach you that in your tutoring?!” exclaimed Teharra.
“Leave Seto,” Yami said sternly.
As Seto left he looked over his shoulder one last time at his love. She was in tears and couldn’t believe that he would leave without a fight. She could read his face though. It seemed to say soon my darling, we will be together forever.
“What the hell were you doing? You were going to give yourself to him?!” Yami asked her.
“Give myself?! How crude do you think I am! We were just showing each other how much we love each other.” explained Teharra practically yelling at her older sibling.
Her brother’s shocked impression on his face told her that was definitely not what she should have said.
“How long? How long Teharra? How long have you been seeing him without my permission?!” Yami said with every time he asked a question he raised his voice.
Teharra was beginning to feel overwhelmed with anger and betrayal. Her brother knew that she was supposed to be married before her eighteenth birthday. How was she supposed to find her true love if he didn’t even let her see different people? And why do only royal females need to be married off before their eighteenth birthday and not males? All these questions and no time for her to ask them. She just sat down on her bed and started to weep.
“It doesn’t matter. He’s a royal just like us. So I did nothing wrong, I didn’t need your permission,” Teharra whispered with tears streaming down her face, looking at the ground.
Yami figuring that it had been going on for a very long time was enraged with her secrecy.
She should have come to me, he thought, she should have trusted my better judgment.
“You can never see him again,” he said sternly, “he’s one of the evils I am trying to protect you from. Please Teharra, you can find someone better.”
“There is no one better for me, Yami. Why can’t you see that?” she asked still crying.
“I’m sure with time you will find someone better, so I forbid you from seeing him again,” Yami said calmly.
Still sobbing, Yami left his sister’s room. She lay on her bed for a while and when one of the servants came to tell her dinner was ready she refused to come down.
“The Pharaoh is asking for you to come down to dinner princess,” the servant explained.
“Tell him I am not hungary and if he has a problem with my decision again, he can come up her and get me himself,” Teharra said with no hesitation in her voice.
“I will do as you command,” answered the servant.
In no time flat, Teharra could feel herself drifting to sleep when her brother walked in. Still with no knock, she opened her eyes and looked at him. They said nothing for the longest time. They just stared at each other like some sort of trans. Finally, Teharra broke the silence.
“I’m not hungary,” she whispered, “I’m tired, please go.”
“We have company and I really wish you’d come down and present yourself to her,” Yami responded.
“Who is it, Anzu?” said Teharra with some emphasis on the last part of the girl’s name.
She then sat up in her bed. And waited for her brother to talk once more.
“Yes, actually, it is. Please come down. You two could talk about this whole incident with Seto. She can explain to you.......” Yami tried saying but he was interrupted by his sister’s yells.
“Explain! Explain what?! Why your such a toad to me all the time?!”
With that Yami could control himself no more. He raced over to the bed and raised his hand to strike his sister. She ducked and waited for the impact of his hand.
What am I doing? I’m about to hit my sister for nothing. What kind of Pharaoh am I if I can let little insults get to me like that? What kind of man am I if I hit a woman, let alone my sister? He thought about all of these questions in a split second.
Instead of an impact upon her face, Teharra felt a gentle caress. She was crying again and was very confused. She opened her eyes and saw her brother also crying. She had never in her life seen him cry before. He was making no sound, just tears were running down his face. She could see the love in his eyes that he had for her and it all started to make sense. Everything he did made sense, or at least most everything he did. She was still in love with Seto but she could not stand to see her brother cry. She embraced her brother and said, “I’m sorry Yami. Please don’t cry, I can’t stand it.”
They hugged for a while and then both of them went down to dinner. Anzu was waiting for them still. Yami went over to Anzu and whispered into her ear an apology for the delay and probably blamed it all on Teharra but she couldn’t hear to confirm her suspicions.
After dinner when Anzu had left, Yami walked his sister to her room.
“I still love him Yami,” said Teharra, “you just can’t make it go away.”
“I realize that, but I wish you would reconsider. He’s a power hungary boy, who would do anything for more power. Including, hurting you if he was promised power,” Yami explained.
“I don’t believe that, but don’t worry brother. I still love you too.” with that she kissed him goodnight on the cheek and went into her room.
Later that night, she was awaken with someone gently kissing her lips. The kiss was tender and soft and she knew immediately who it was. When she opened her eyes, she saw Seto standing above her.
“I have a solution,” he said.
“For what, my love?” Teharra asked.
“A way we can be together forever in power,” explained Seto.
“How? My brother will never accept it,” Teharra said groggily as she was still waking up.
“He will have to accept it. I am going to duel him for everything. I will challenge him and if I win I get you, and the kingdom,” Seto still explaining with a grin on his face.
“How did you get in here?” asked Teharra.
“What?” Seto asked back.
“How did you get to my room, with the guards?” Teharra asked concerned.
“Don’t worry my love, I hurt no one. No one was around, I swear.” said Seto.
“Then where is everyone?” Teharra asked.
“I don’t know, I was kind of concerned that I might not find you as well, but I did, so I was relieved,” said Seto grinning his sensitive sexy grin.
“Oh, okay. Dueling Yami is a bad idea. If he wins he will throw you in the dungeons or worse the shadow realm. Please don’t, I could not bear to lose you any more then I have since Yami has forbid me to ever see you.” said Teharra concerned for her lover’s life.
“I will not lose my love, and I will never loose you.” with that, he kissed Teharra again. The kiss was long and tender. The most lovable she thought since they had met. She wished he would reconsider but she knew when his mind was set not even she could change it.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * One week later, Teharra thought that Seto had actually reconsidered. He hadn’t challenged Yami yet and she and her brother were getting along better than ever. Since that night of Seto’s solution, she had seen Seto twice and both at night. It seemed that the guards were off post or something at that time so Seto could easily get to her. She tried pleading with Seto some more about the duel and she said when she turned eighteen Yami couldn’t stop her from marring him so they could run away and be together forever. Unfortunately, Seto’s greed for power over ruled her in all cases. He said that living prosperous and with her is all he wanted and that it would be best for her as well. She reluctantly agreed but she realized that in a duel only one dueler ever came back out. The other was sent to the shadow realm. She feared for both her brother and Seto.
The day came where Seto finally came into the palace demanding for a duel. It was lunchtime. Yami and Teharra was sitting at their table eating when Seto stormed in.
“Wait, wait! You can’t go in there!” yelled a guard from the front entrance.
In walked Seto with his Millennium Rod at his waist. Teharra knew what that meant and immediately was very fearful.
“What are you doing here?” asked Yami angrily.
“I told him sir, I told him he was not allowed.” pleaded the guard.
“Be gone!” yelled Yami to the guard, “What do you want Seto?”
“I want to duel you. And when I win, not only will you be gone as well but I will win your kingdom and your sister’s heart.” explained Seto.
Seto looked towards Teharra and could see the fear on her face. Don’t worry my love, he thought, this will be short and quick.
When Teharra looked into Seto’s eyes she could not find the man she fell in love with. All she could see was a cold dark figure who wanted power. She knew he loved her and he thought this was for the best but she wished it didn’t have to come down to this and she wished her brother would do something to stop this foolishness. But of course, he did the opposite of what she had hoped he do.
“Fine! You want a duel, you’ll get a duel and you will be sorry you ever laid a hand on my sister!” said the Pharaoh.
With that, Teharra ran out of the dinning area crying. She knew what was coming. She was going to loose one of the closest people to her and their was no way to stop it now.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Two days later the duel was to take place. Teharra was fearful and when she saw Seto she pleaded and cried.
“Please Seto, don’t do it. Anything else but this.” She sobbed.
“You don’t understand, Teharra. I must do this. For us. You will watch the duel, right?” asked Seto.
“I don’t know if I can,” replied Teharra in a whispered weep.
“Fine,” Seto said,” I know this is hard for you. Please don’t let it bother you to much my love,” and with that he kissed her on the forehead and was off to the duel.
Yami saw the kiss and overheard their conversation. He walked over to his crying sister and said,”Everything will be okay and back to normal shortly.”
If only that were true, she thought.
She walked in behind her brother and sat in her assigned chair for the beginning of the duel. It was amazing. Monster after monster was released and only few life points were taken off either dueler. When it got to looking bad though she decided she couldn’t bear to watch the end. She left and looked behind her only once to see Seto looking at her thinking stuff she couldn’t read off his face.
Outside of the dueling area, Teharra paced back and forth waiting for the inevitable outcome. She was so terrified to loose either one of the men she had become so close to. She prayed that somehow they’d get a draw and no one would win, but in all her life she had never heard of a draw in the monster dueling.
An hour passed and nothing happened. No one came out to brag their victorious win and she was getting even more worried then before. Finally, she had to go in to see what had happened.
In the dueling arena she looked around. The duel was over. Nothing was happening and it was very quiet. She ran to the first dueling stand nearest to the entrance way. When she got there she saw Seto, her love, laying on the ground. He was completely lifeless and laying near him was his Millennium Rod. Teharra started to sob like she never had sobbed before.
“My love,” she cried,” I told you not to duel! I told you not to duel Yami ..... why couldn’t you just listen to me.”
Yami! she thought, If Seto lay lifeless here that must mean....
She ran over to Yami’s stand. He too lay lifeless on the ground with his Millennium puzzle still around his neck.
“No No No! This can’t be.” she said.
“Yami please awake, I am so sorry I should have warned you he wanted to duel. It’s all my fault,” she sobbed and finally she laid her head on her lifeless brother and wailed, for she knew that both were no longer among the living.

THE MILLENIUM HEART

“Princess Teharra?” a familiar voice beckoned her from outside of her room.
“Please go away Simon. I can’t stand the pain. I can’t talk about anything that has happened.” she said as she lay in her bed.
“I have a theory on what happened and I know your secret.” Simon said to her.
Simon was also a great sorcerer. But he was very old, and he looked over the two royal children. After the bizarre dueling incident though, his goal was to keep the princess alive. He knew that she had given up and frankly dying was the only way he knew she thought that she could go on with her life.
“What secret?” she asked.
“Your heart. It’s almost as broken as this......vase.” he said breaking a vase.
“No not almost,” she sobbed,” it is. I don’t know what do to with myself anymore. Yami said an evil was coming. Now he’s not here to save us,” she wept.
“The evil is gone for now. Yami left you in charge Teharra. Make him proud and do good for this kingdom. No one else can do what you can.” he tried to persuade her.
Just then, the High Mage of the city the palace overlooked broke into the castle. He was an evil also that Yami had never told anyone but Simon about. He was the man that Seto used to work for.
Oh no, Simon thought, what now?
“I am taking over. Get out of my way!” The High Mage roared.
Out of her room, Teharra stood in front of the High Mage and said, “Over my lifeless body, you scarab.”
“Don’t tempt me princess, you wouldn’t like what I could do to you.” threatened the High Mage.
With that the High Mage's men flew throughout the palace.
“Run with me, princess!” yelled Simon. They ran down a flight of stairs into the dungeon areas.
“Why are we here, I should protect what I was left to do so,” whispered Teharra.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure he’s stopped, trust me. Now listen, your brother and Seto are not dead. Your brother’s soul has inhabited the Millennium puzzle and Seto..........”
“Has inhabited the rod?” Teharra interrupted.
“No. Listen. His soul is wandering. I don’t know why but somehow their souls where forced to leave their bodies and this duel has somehow been delayed sort of. They will finish it at a different time.” explained Simon.
“When will they finish it? I must know. Please tell me,” pleaded Teharra.
“It could be tomorrow or many, many, many years from now.” said Simon.
“Then how will I be alive to view it if it doesn’t happen in my lifetime?” questioned Teharra.
“That is my point. Look here.” Simon said.
In his hand he held a metallic heart. It was very beautiful and had the millennium symbol upon it.
“A millennium item? I’ve never seen that one before,” commented Teharra.
“That’s because,” explained Simon,” I made it with my own powers. The last of my powers to be exact. It is not actually a millenium item but with the symbol of one, it will carry your spirit forever and some destined soul will find it. When that happens you know the duel will eventually happen in that destined one’s life time. But only you can decide to let your soul go to it.”
“Why a heart? Why not something more .......... demanding or something?” she asked.
“Because the heart,” he said,” represents your love for both Yami and Seto and the world depends on you three together so you must decide.”
She decided for a split second when she heard pounding above her. She knew that the High Mage’s men would soon be on top of them. She had to decide.
“How will you protect Egypt with out us?” she asked.
“Don’t worry, all is in good hands. I promise. Nothing will happen to Egypt. Loyal royals have been assigned the task. Please Princess, if you don’t go the duel might never happen and the duel must happen because an evil is said to endanger the future that can not be defended without Yami and Seto working together. You and the destined one are the only ones who can put them together.” Simon pleaded as the door to the dungeons was broke down.
“All right, Simon I am ready.”
With that Teharra’s soul was drawn into the heart leaving her body to fall lifeless against Simon’s arms.
“Be careful my princess,” said Simon as he buried the heart in the dirt ground before he was taken away by the High Mage’s men.
