not that these 10-play series scrimmages mean much but hudson dominated in a 3-way scrimmage between us wadsworth and eastlake north.
on offense the line was unbelievably improved (nowakowski and conroy, although not perfect, have continuously stunned their teammates with their improvements), as carducci ran for a long (60-yard+) TD against Wadsworth, and several long plays were made against eastlake resulting in a 15 yard TD pass from Morton to Johnson (several other long Carducci runs, Kneep and Smith provided some nice rushing too with long runs).
the defense was incredible. they kept both teams to about 40 yards total on 20 plays, shutting them both down.
I realize that these are not the greatest teams and this scrimmage doesn't prove much of anything. however we explorers are heading to eastlake for a half-game scrimmage tomorrow. I feel that the defense can shut them down throughout and the offense could score 2-3 touchdowns.
PLAYERS TO WATCH: carducci, knepp, justin smith, morton, kyle smith, nowakowski, shan wilson, conroy, spense, russell, ciborek, dailey, kost, mcculough, drake.
honestly all were impressive in the scrimmages. how did the other wrc teams fare in their scrimmages?
