I always said Richard Branson was a weirdo bearded money grabbing ugly wanker!...

After ringing one number only to be given another a million times I FINALLY got through to someone that at least had a bit of honesty - though he didn't say anything that any of us would want to hear.

1) There will be no discounted travel even when the ticket prices / sales are released on the train we have chosen as it is Friday lunch time.

2) There will be no group bookings taken for the same reason as above so the cheapest you could get a ticket for would be £91.10 each return - even if there are 2, 20, or 200 of you!

3) The works on the line mean that we would have to get a train from Plymouth to Exeter then a bus from Exeter to Bristol then a train back to Chesterfield / Derby. (All for only £91.10 each folks - cheap as chips!!!)

4) There is no other route we could take to make it cheaper (eg Sheffield to Plymouth) at an earlier or later time that day and even if we ring six weeks before departure like we have been told (lied to about) all this time then there is no guarantee we can get return tickets cos of the train works.

5) A single ticket is about £35 but obviously we might not get home. He asked if we could come back Monday as that would be £67.80 each IF they did release group bookings and the train works had been completed (unlikely!)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but thought you would rather know that keep getting the same old "ring back six weeks before when the tickets are released" bullshit.

Daz has offered to drive us there but if you lot decide to go on a bus and want our 9 to fill some places let us know a time and price and I am sure our two volunteer drivers would much rather do that.

Cheers,
(A very very pissed off) Nicola!
