You're right, Rick. The day seemed perfect for a good hawk flight, especially Goldens. High hopes in hand, I went over to Wildwood Metropark over the lunch hour, and happened to meet Steve Stockford, who had gotten a head start.

In the hour or so we were there, things were very uneventful, with just a handful of common raptors passing high overhead.

We parted ways, and fortunately for Steve, he gets to work outside. He called last night to report an excellent hawk flight over west Toledo in the afternoon. Alas, no Golden eagles, but here were his numbers:

Red-tailed hawk 118
Red-shouldered hawk 3
Northern harrier 2
Coopers 7
Sharp-shinned 2
Rough-legged hawk 1
Peregrine falcon 1
Northern goshawk 1
