Subject: Loggerhead shrike in Monroe Co. MI

A Loggerhead shrike was discovered by Tex Wells and Phil Chu yesterday June 3rd and was still present this morning, about 15 miles north of Toledo in Monroe Co. MI. From Toledo, take I-75 north to exit 15 in Monroe, which is Dixie Hwy. Go northeast on Dixie .3 of a mile just past the Hampton Inn. Turn left onto the westernmost of the entrance roads into Frenchtown park, and follow the road .4 mile to its end. The shrike is at the end of this road---check the tops of the metal poles. Grasshopper sparrows can be found in this field also.
