I was there last night and today. The Northern Shrike was indeed near the sledding hill and was also found along side Route 2 near Maumee BSP.
Male and female Shorteared Owls were seen about 5:00p last night on the beach side of the hill. They were perched on the picnic tables, then flying around that area. They were vocal and well seen. Possibly a third was there but also the immature NHarrier was in the mix. Buffleheads, Common Mergansers, and Hoodies were the only ducks observed off the beach. Northern Shoveler was a fly-by.
