Subject: Oak Openings Blue Grosbeak - Yes

This 4th of July morning at approximately 6:45-7:00am I observed one of the previously mentioned first-year male Blue Grosbeaks in the fields near the intersection of Girdham and Reed. I was there from 6:20am-8:00am and the bird sang only for a short period of time. He was on the northeast side of the road only 30feet from the road just north of the gravestones. The bird sang while perched near the ground and also from the trees about 75feet in on the norhteast side of the road. At one point I had great looks through my scope as he perched and sang on a low bush near the road for a couple of minutes.

I also saw 2 Lark Sparrows, and though they're regular at this location, they were a bonus for me since I don't see many in my neck of the woods.
