Subject: Henslow's sparrow, Summer tanager, Common loon

A quick detour through Oak Openings on my way into work this morning yielded the following:

Henslow's sparrow - singing in the field west of the
airport; heard 75+ yards north of the lane that goes back
to the tower, 50+ yards west of Route 2
Grasshopper sparrow - at least 6 in same field
Summer tanager - 2 singing males, one on either side of
the Girdham Road dunes
Pine warbler - two across from dunes and one (with very
atypical song - as discovered a few days ago by Elliot
Tramer) in thinned out pines along Girdham bewteen
Monclova and Sager
Hooded warbler - White Oak picnic area
Yellow-throated vireo - several spots
Common loon - 2 on Salisbury Quarry (both very close to
Salisbury Road this morning!
