Subject: Raptors and migrants

Today at lunch just west of Perrysburg we had Towhee, Thrasher, Fox sparrow, Winter Wren, Hermit Thrush, and House Wren. Not a bad start but it only got better. Around 2:30 the cold front came in and the winds shifted from out of the North very quickly, and we were treated to a very good raptor display. We saw Red-tailed, Red-shouldered, Coopers and Sharp-shinned in good numbers but the highlights were the first Osprey of the year for me and a great look at an adult Goshawk. We also had 1 Sandhill Crane.
