Subject: Short-eared Owl at Killdeer Plains

On Monday evening, Nov. 25, I got a short-eared owl at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area near the sportsmen's center. The bird was sitting on one of the "Safety First" signs near the center, and was very cooperative; I watched the bird through my scope for at least five minutes. The bird was very light and appeared to be a male.
