Subject: Sylvania Backyard Birding

It's nice when you're reminded that you don't have to run out to Lake Erie to see migrants. On Friday in my very small, suburban backyard in Sylvania (close to Olander Park) I had a good night of birding. While scanning my trees, I picked up:
Yellow-rumped
Tennessee
Redstart
Chestnut-sided
Bay-breasted
Blackpoll
Nashville
Baltimore Oriole (4)
And the highlight of the evening:
Male and Female Scarlet Tanager

Nothing terribly rare, but a really good night for the backyard. In the past week, I've had 12 species of warbler pass through.
