Subject: Wood County Big Day

Pushed by our esteemed President, I attempted my first Wood County Big Day on Saturday, April 27th. As far as I know, this is the only Big Day ever done in Wood County for any month. If anyone has information to the contrary, I would certainly be interested in hearing about it. Due to a lack of great habitat in Wood County and a lack of early migrants this year, my total for the day of 76 species was better than I expected, but the exact total Greg predicted - that's just scary! The total includes only 3 duck species, 3 raptors, 2 shorebirds, and 4 warblers. As previously posted, the best surprises of the day were common moorhen, great-crested flycatcher and Caspian tern.
