Sean, Ted, Kit,

In Missouri we have had our share of characters. We were blessed to have had our prefered Senate Candidate Tamara Millay win in the Primaries against a guy who had after drinking a fifth of whiskey attempted to murder by stabbing another patron of a bar he was in. Even though the man had served his time for the crime, and this was way back in his past, he was certainly no (l)Libertaian. He signed up as a Senate Candidate because we had been remiss by not filing early and there was no Libertaian candidate on the ballot, he saw it as a free ride through the primary. Because he had top spot on the ballot our genuine Libertarian Candidate had to spend a lot more time and resources educating Libertarians about her run for office. That of course was money and time that should have been spent educating everyone but Libertarians about her candidacy. Although she won the primary she only mustered a little less than one percent of the vote; most likely she would have done at least a little better if she had kept more of the resources spent before the primary. Moral: File day one. Fortunately our candidate for State Auditor maintaned our ballet access, which is two percent of a statewide race and considerably less than most states.

I wish the worst that Libertarians had to worry about from their candidates was what Montana suffered through with their Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Stan Jones, who turned blue-grey from making and taking his own colloidial silver. Hey, it earned them a ABC News story! http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/bluecandidate_021003.html

That's my two cents worth.
