The scale of political views is for children not adults. The entire purpose of the mythical "scale" is to exclude certain views; usually the only ones that matter. It is an exersize in media puppetry. In one scanario you have two sides: yes or no. The mythical scale give us the crackpot middle which is a "weak yes" with sugar cand coating for the people who have no time to think about issues. A weak yes is still a yes is still a yes as anyone who has ever seen a drive-in movie will understand. Disagreement does not make a person an extremist. The real extremists are the liberals who censor information by calling people "extremists". It is an appelation which is also a threat.
