I think here is the place to remind you that the as yet unapprehended anthrax terrorist is a US citizen, probably of the same white european decent that you would be. Tim McVeigh was also in this category.
Don't let the government and media focus your attention on those from islamic states - its a deliberate manipulation to get the american public to pull together in united force against the 'external' enemy, so everyone can feel like they are doing something, protecting themselves and the country. It makes people feel strong, which helps business confidence etc but its still a cheat.
In reality there isn't much any single person is going to be able to do. In light of all the publicity etc the only foreign terrorists anyone on US soil is going to catch are the dumb ones, the amateurs. These ones were probably never going to do much damage even if they did get to follow through to their objective.
Thats not to say people shouldn't be alert, but they shouldn't let the popular media focus on 'states of concern' blind them to the fact that the domestic 'homegrown' troublemakers will more than likely be the perpetrators of the next attack.
