I have read numerous articles from Ed, and have heard his arguments from others. There is lots of documentation, a considerable amount of which I have in archives, that support Ed's arguments. I believe, from corroborating documents sent me by others, that he may be on the right track. However, read the recent Lew Rockwell article, re: constitutional arguments. In a nutshell, neither the government nor its courts care one iota about your natural rights, nor do they respect the limits placed on them by the constitution, and that tax protesters (or more accurately, tax evaders, never mind for now the legitimacy or illegitimacy of the taxes) tend to wind up in jail. Ed is right that the government has usurped powers not its own. Yes, I may be a coward not to follow Ed's advice and protest or "non-comply," but be advised that to do so is likely to bring down severe financial and even physical consequences, no matter how right we are. It is no longer 1776. No matter how wrong I think the present situation is, people are more dependent on government, far less independent both financially and of spirit than 226 yrs ago. Since it is obvious that political opinion is overwhelmingly against the constitutional and libertarian arguments that Ed makes regardless of how correct he might be, the question becomes, at what point do we decide to engage in a revolution that we can not possibly win? Most of my own family is on the wrong side of this, and I do not relish going to war with my loved ones.

My answer: when the current situation becomes so intolerable that even defeat is preferable to continued life under the present regime. Now to figure out what that point might be.....
