Patrick, we all shared so much laughter in the two years the five of us spent together in a rented house close to campus. Uni won't be the same without you, nor will my life, or those of Gavin, Luke and most of all Simon. You were so full of life, so full of fun, nothing got you down for too long. Why did you leave things too late? Had any of us known sooner you would still be with us today. I was there when you died, holding your hand as you cried and screamed to be released from the pain you were so obviously in. I thank God he heard your calls and ended your suffering. Now it us those you leave behind who suffer the great void you have left in our lives. I will always hold you in great esteem, remember you with fondness and respect because, Patrick, you too were "a good bloke". When I think of you, which will be often, I will "keep smiling".
