Subject: He was pacing the floor....

Not even working out had soothed him, he was just at loose ends right now - not knowing what to do about either of his kids. Really, where had he gone wrong? Jordan was running off to marry whoever she had a whim too, Jake was shackin' up with sixteen year olds, and almost killing someone...He cursed outloud, floppping back down the weight bench after adding a few more pounds, his powerful arms straining beneath the weight.

For what felt like the first time in weeks, her eyes were dry - but still, lined with stress and exhaustion - as she leaned against the doorframe watching him quietly. It was easy to forget the times Jaden had been deeply involved in DN, when he had left her for weeks on end after Angel died, when he came back with bullet holes and knife marks....
