Dan's tracks have frequented our tracklisting over the last couple of years and at last we have managed to nail him down for an exclusive opportunity for you to hear some more of what the man has to show off!

Dan Berkson

First and foremost a keyboard player, Dan was playing six nights a week in his hometown of Chicago by the age of 16. He entered the New England Conservatory of Music in 1993 and quickly immersed himself in the worlds of jazz, funk and soul. While at NEC, he studied with such jazz greats as Danilo Perez, Cecil Mcbee and George Russell. Dan co-founded "The Daddys", a funk band which won numerous awards and gained a loyal fan base in the Boston area. "The Rockett Band" was a second project that took off locally, but after two self-released albums and selling out venues in Boston, New York, Providence, and Portland, Dan left the band to pursue a solo career.

As his interests turned more to house, dub and electronic music, he went to London to study production and immersed himself in the UK's forward thinking music scene. Dan has released tracks on Sondos, Movim, and Exun and continues to explode onto the electronic music scene. His tracks have been featured on Radio 1, Kiss FM, Proton Radio, and Foot Therapy on Worldwide FM as well as Eric Morillo's Subliminal Sessions 3 and Live at Pacha. His records have found their way into the hands of Steve Bug, Laurent Garnier, Jay Tripwire, Mr.C, Mazi, Tyler Stadius, Freestlyle Man, Phonique and the list goes on.

In a relatively short amount of time Dan Berkson has made a noticeable and lasting impression on the tech-house genre� His is the 'next' tech-house, where the sound grows to incorporate melody and warmth to go along with the sound effects and experimentalism.

Dan�s newest release on Gourmet (Easy, 10/04) is a funky, electro tech house track which is currently getting massive support worldwide.
