] Date Posted: 23:44:26 10/07/03 Tue The Sunday Roast Radio Show Foot Therapy Session THIS SUNDAY 12TH OCTOBER 2003 AT 2PM (gmt) With NILS HESS Nils Hess is the A&R man behind the Eukatech and Eukahouse labels which picked up the award for Best Independent Label at the Muzik Magazine Dance Awards in 2001. He is also co-owner of Eukatech Records, as well as being a successful producer, remixer and busy DJ to boot. As a producer Nils Hess demonstrates his musical diversity under a number of aliases, such as Flunkies, Ding & Dong, Reck and Get Fucked (with Nathan Coles). He has had tracks and remixes on labels such as Household, Clip Recordings, Loaded, Visitor, Get Groovy, Plastic City, Big Chief and of course Eukahouse. The Get F**cked sound has captured London’s tech house scene & their 2nd album Wet Dreams reached No. 9 in Muzik Magazines top albums of 2000, beating the likes of Radiohead and Bent. As a remixer Nils has completed projects for Lauren Hill, DJ Pierre, John Beltran, Bad Meets Evil featuring Eminem, Kooland the Gang, Hardfloor, George Morell and Oliver Lieb to name just a few. Nils is also an active DJ and has played at numerous clubs worldwide, such as Tresor, Sage, Milk, Omen and Tribal Gathering in Germany. Also Home, Fabric, The Fridge, Heaven, The Soundshaft, and Brixton Academy in London. He also plays extensively throughout Europe and these days hols down a hectic international DJ schedule. In 1990 Nils moved to London. He kept strong links with the North, having started out with his first residency in Grimsby & he continued to play at clubs like The Hacienda. Whilst in London he started his own night at The Fridge, Brixton. The aptly named Jelly in the Fridge fast became a hotbed of talent as proved by the many guest DJs and live acts including Ian B, Eddie Richards, Colin Dale, Colin Faver, Carl Cox, Mr C, The Shamen, Orbital, LFO, Nightmares on Wax & The Prodigy. By 1993 DJing became just half of his career as he ventured into business in the heart of London. Along with his brother Hans Hess, Alex Oppido & Marco Lenzi he opened Silverfish Records on Charing Cross Road, London which became a full time job. 1996 and things were developing once more. Nils, Hans & Marco started a new venture with Under Cover Music Group. In Covent Garden, the Eukatech Record store was opened whilst Under Cover manufactured records Receiving consistent recognition for his work, Nils’ music (LISTEN) regularly reaches the dance charts like Music Week’s Cool Cuts & 7’s Buzz Chart as well as getting plays from a range of DJs including Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Boy George & Gilles Peterson as well as the underground DJ fraternity. This is gonna be a goodie as Nils is back from Ibiza and keen to appear on the show after not being able to make it for his guest mix a month or so ago.
