Subject: free edge lifting

I have been using gels for about a month and a half now. I got a sample kit from Light Elegance and am following all thier suggested procedure. I am having clients with the gel seperating at the free edge (it is a gel overlay over natural nails). Should I be using a primer? Light Elegance says that it is not neccesary. I have tried wrapping the free edge a little but there still seems to be lifting. The cuticle area is hardly lifting at all. What am I doing wrong?
