Yes, it's illegal and there is big crackdown on street prostitution. The girls don't get into trouble, but they are really tough on the guys. On thing I used to do was: if I see a girl I liked, then I stop the car around the corner and walk up to the girl. I ask her, "wanna go for a ride?", but never talk about sex. Then when in the car, I ask her, "are you cop?". If they are, they have to tell you. But if not, the girl will try to prove it by grabbing your dick or letting you touch her breast. It used to work, but the last time I was in Vancouver, I was driving around to look at the girls and I got stopped by undercover police car. The police gave me big hassle and took down my licence (canadian licence have your id# and address) and car registration...they said it would go into a file and if I get arrested for soliciting hooker in the future, it would be used as evidence against me. SHIT!! They also gave me a ticket for not signalling on right turn to scare me, even though I was on a small street and driving at 15km/h....$100 bucks!! Having said that, there are some good looking girls on the street...some very young and pretty, maybe 14-15 yo runaways. But it's not worth the jail time if you are arrested. 5-10 years if you are caught with underage girl for statutory rape of a minor.
