I missed last year's because I was in the process of getting married. I had no idea when the one for this year would be and I stumbled across the info because I sub to DizNews. Well, I will be in DL Thanksgiving weekend. Have fun, all! I wish I could be there.

[ Post a Reply to this Message ][ Edit | View ]  We decided instead of waiting 3 weeks for Alex’s pictures to come back that we would instead have them taken this month at one of those “portraits-in-an-hour” studios. I have to admit, the instant gratification is very satisfying! The bear in the picture is the one John and I made for Alex and the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Downtown Disney at Disneyland in June. The bear’s name is Teddyxander, “Teddy” for short. Alex’s full name is Alexander, so they are meant to be together! Alex is quite mobile, which means following him wherever he goes, and just yesterday started pulling himself to his feet. Now I have to make sure he’s not going to topple over! His 9 month check-up was Thursday, and he now weighs 18 ibs, 8 oz and is 29 in tall. His height is average for his age, but he is somewhat thin. The doctor said it is nothing to worry about, especially since he eats like a horse! I’m sure part of it too is that he does not sit still. He crawls wherever he wants to go, and even follows us around the house. Mushu, our cat, is great with him. He will flop down next to Alex and just beg for him to pull on his ears, tail, legs, etc. The other night Alex was lying on top of Mushu, and the cat didn’t mind a bit! Just when I thought he was my cat, I guess he is actually Alex’s!

He crawls all over the place, and pulls himself to his knees, so it won't be long before he gets to his feet and starts running! He eats like a horse, but his favorite thing to shovel into his mouth by the fistfull are Cheerios. Even if he's full, there's always room for Cheerios!

The first of this month our family took a trip to California, including 3 days at Disneyland! It was Alex's first trip there (out of the womb), and he had a blast! [ Post a Reply to this Message ][ Edit | View ] As we approach summer it is time to start thinking about the Pals weekend in the Fall. The weekend has been set for Walt Disney World this year the weekend of Nov. 15-17. Many of the people who will attend the weekend will be leaving on the 17th to go on the Fall Pin Cruise and continue the fun of the weekend. The Fall Pin Cruise is why this particular weekend was chosen. I am not sure how many we will have at this point but it will be a fun time. We will of course do all the usual fun stuff but there will be an informal get together on Sat night rather than an expensive meal. Depending on the number of people that come will depend on what the location will be and what the meal will be. We are looking right now at staying off property. I can get 2 bedroom condos for just over $100 a night which sleep up to 6 with one of the bedrooms having twin beds and the other having a king. If anyone has any suggestions for what they would like to do. Maybe a tour that they would like to take or something particularly fun that they would like our special hunt (or whatever) to be then just let me know. figgy

Several of us have talked and it seems that many of us are going to be at WDW for the weekend of Sept 20 - 22 of this year so that might be a good time to shoot for. Would anyone be interested in trying to do the weekend at that time? figgy
