Chicago State (1-3) was narrowly defeated by Denver at home. The Cougars found themselves leading by as much as eight points halfway throught the first period, but trailed going into the break. The Cougars battled back pulling to within four points with 33 seconds left in the contest, but Denver put the game away on a series of free-throws. Chicago State's Craig Franklin finished the night with 27 points.
