I fractured my spine and was paralysed from the waist down for a while - if you think that being paralysed is an easy way to gain an income, please try it and find out what it's like... instead of making a mockery of disability!

I did get well thanks to acupuncture and Chinese medicine and was working again in 1991 - but as a freelance and working 7 days a week I was then earning in the region of about £1,500 a week! That, in my mind was the best (and easiest) way to earn a decent income instead of having to rely on a paltry amount that the government provided when I had to be looked after!

How much do you get from the government?
