I agree. The complete disappearance of 'Mike'-- meaning he was never even mentioned by name after the 6th season-- seems to be the only glaring breach in continuity. I suppose if he was mentioned continually, though, fans would keep up the anticipation of seeing him again and being frustrated by his nonappearance, even for very special occasions. Maybe "out of sight-- out of mind", though not ideal, was the best way to go on that topic.

Otherwise, continuity was basiclly good on MTS. They do not seem to hesitate to mention Bryant Park as their former home after they have moved to California, and in at least one ep one of them returns there. There may be a little glitch, though, in the way Ernie came into the family. His parents, we suddenly find out, were only foster parents, just in order to make him available for adoption by Steve. But it is not forgotten later that Ernie was adopted
