Sorry if I take a while responding to some of the posts, Geoff, but like most people (including you, I'm sure) I do have other interests and responsibilities. I don't think i could ever commit myself to be a board host. This is a nice diversion from the drudgeries and troubles of life, though. Anyway, I found it interesting that you wrote to, and were answered by, Jimmy Stewart, one of my all-time favorites. They don't come like him anymore, a real good guy. I always thought he would have made a good Steve. The main page for M3S on TV Tome says the show was created as a vehicle for Fred MacMurray (another of my favorites). If so, it was quite a vehicle since, despite a highly successful career in film, he is best remembered as Steve Douglas.

As for colorization, I don't mind it so much if it makes a program or movie more watchable, so long as it doesn't tamper with the artistry of the original. "It's A Wonderful Life" should be left alone. I plan on getting a DVD player soon, but I hope they find an inexpensive way to transfer VHS to DVD. I would only do it for things that I want to preserve for sentimantal reasons.

BTW, KAZ-TV has gone back to the early color episodes. Friday's episode was the first one, with Mike and Sally getting married and riding off into the sunset. They didn't get to the ones with Chip and Polly.

Till bnext time,
Joe (TV King)
