We just purchased a Wauquiez Pretorian 35 that has a standard marine toilet but no holding tank, so we are replacing what's there with a composting toilet. They are quite a bit taller so you need to make sure you can fit it in the space and you have overhead clearance.

My wife did all the research and its my understanding that there are basically two out there that are certified by the CG to qualify as a MSD, the Air Head and another knockoff who's name I can not recall right now. My only concern about building one is would it qualify as a MSD with the CG?
