she's basically a one-off. i bought it from the origonal owner who had a yard loft and lay up the hull in glass in 1981 then spent the next 5 years or so building it out... almost enitrely of reclaimed old growth wood from the defunct boatyards on the Oregon coast. beautiful stuff, port orford and yellow cedar mostly.

the design is a Bruce Bingham one, that was produced at one time by NorStar (who also made the flickas before they went under and PacSea bought the molds), but the production verson is much uglier with a obtrusive house and inferior rig.

the katana is good at learning principals of security and defence, but they'll probably be a firearm on the boat soon if i have any serous worries about it... and inside the cabin, a good tactical knife (or even machete) is much more effective than the full 30" razor blade.
