... and yet 'We' in the 'developed nations' have been sending food to those who chronically do not feed themselves, thus multiplying their numbers and the problems - repeat as necessary. The HUGE increase in third worlf fishermen having asses with western technology, often on loan/free from 'us' fish OUR traditional fishing grounds and do so in ever increasing numbers because we've force fed an unstopping population bomb NOT in our parts of the world, but in theirs.

Frankly - coming from a culture which is not even breeding at replacement levels, yet feeding and medicating those who crank out mouths by the multiple millions - I see it more a matter of conservation of local resources, leading to 'sane' use of global resources.

We DO have a globle problem in many ways: A prime example here in the USA, which USED to be 80% agrarian and so VERY tough to starve into submission. Now since WW II, agriculture was replaced with condos and housing tracts filled with McMansions. We cut of our own REAL/Usable productivity and replaced it with 'investments' in the inflationary monitary system. Our grandparents on the farm/fishimg boat - though without money in the previous depression - were 'dirt poor, in that no money did not stop them from eating what they could harvest. Now - we're almost all in cities, not producing what we and our neighbors eat.

In short - you are right - We do have problems. I personally believe that much of what the media throws at us is not really the root. For me - being used to being much more self-sufficient, I've drawn some sidelong glances for being this way. On the other hand, when 'the lights go out'. I'm generally warm, fed and spinning the dial on my ship's shortwave radio. I did the same things in my little cabin in Idaho -0 where this is the norm.

To me - I see the present doctrine ex nihilo as being a formula for global governance - not global freedom. Just as 'the war on drugs, the war on terror and the war on global warming is yet another method of control over a slightly frightened and mostly ignorant bunch of sheeple. For those of us not wanting this control - we get fregged when found. My advice: don't get found.
