Hey Jay -

Thank you for the invitation. I would like to get over to Hilo and I have an acquaintance in the Pacific side of Costa Rica as a lay-over/jump-off point. To get the boat from Atlantic to Pacific, in my case would either be paying for trucking/rail from Li'mon to Gulfito or what's left of the canal, though I'm hearing some pretty poor things for sailors trying to transit through there lately. Jimmy Carter certainly dropped the soap on that one.

However - there may be something that may make you reconsider. I ...../how can I put this delicately?/.... I have certain tastes..... Well, I'll just say it:

You wrote that canned mushrooms are point of contention with you, so I just thought I'd let you know up front about my deviant nature. If all else fails, I can anchor down wind from the rest of you - and sautee my canned mushrooms in peace (in ghee, garlic, basil & garam masala). (mooo-ha ha ha - Up wind would not be fair to the rest of you)
