Subject: anchoring without engine

can anyone give me tips on anchoring without an engine? haven't anchored on my boat yet (that doesn't have an inboard) and all my experience of anchoring has been on boats with a windlass and engine. we have a kedge and bow anchor both danforth. should pulling the anchor in by hand be okay on a 22 fter? any other tips. i'll be anchoring in tidal waters and know about accounting for depth changes etc.
