Date Posted: 11:19:40 12/03/05 Sat In reply to: Dave 's message, "Re: Who were the Mikey Sisters ?" on 07:14:49 12/02/05 Fri Hey Mike, if your question is in reference to Dave's comment during his radio interview, when THE SECRET was performing on WWWM 105 (M105) for Rock Around the Block, December 1980, thinking it may have also been from Wally's suggetion that THE SECRET actually be named THE MIKEY's...no lie. I recall I was with my Fiance at the time, watching THE SECRET Perform at the Music Machine (on brookpark rd). I was chatting with Wally infront of the bar where Wally said (in somewhat loud voice) that he wanted the band to be called THE MIKEY's, to which Eric Robertson looked back, smiling sarcastically and simply said "Oh Yeah Right...that's a real good name for the band Wally" ha-ha. I think Wally was serious about the name, regardless of how silly it sounded, but chatiing with Wally was always about fun stuff...ANYWAY, I always thought Daves radio comment about the Mikey Sisters was actually aknowledging, Kim Havrilla, Kay Bryson & Dee Robertson...but I'm probably wrong...Dave would know for sure. AND by the way, for the guy who posted a year ago about THE SECRET'S cover of "River Deep Mountain High" from Ike and Tina, YES I agree, That was infact one of the GREATEST cover-song performances I have ever heard in my life from ANY BAND...too bad they Dave & the SECRET didn't do that song for their Live Radio show. >Mike, > Hey buddy. Happy Holidays to you and yours. The >Secret...a great, fun band. The Mikey sisters are 4 >lovely ladies from Lake County who knew us, the >Secret, very well.... One of their husbands name was >Mike, plus the commercial about Mikey was out then. >Someone, probably in a drunken haze, maybe possibly >me, gave them their name, and now they're quite >famous... that's about all I can say! Take care and >keep in touch. >D > > > > > > >>Obviously a question that only Dave can answer, m. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
