Good Luck! -- Glen Urquhart, 11:14:17 02/27/04 Fri

WOW! I just found your track by linking to it from the GNC web site. If I only still lived in Forest Cove! A track a mile or two away, how cool would that be! Good luck to you and I'll sure try to get down there (I live in Ft. Worth now) for the GNC final or some other event.

Regards,

Glen Urquhart

Thanks -- Jeff, 08:27:15 02/10/04 Tue

Thanks to all the riders that have been supporting us and I am glad you all enjoyed our first race on the new day track. The real effort was put in by a bunch of guys you never see at the track. They were there, just not noticed. I would like to mention Darrel Pinkerton, Travis Foyt and all the flaggers, safety and cleanup crew that worked. Darrel pulled us out when our dozier blew a fuel pump saturday am. Travis worked late in the night and was back on the dozier before sun up to get the track in the shape it was in. What a job he did......The pics are up on the web site of the Quadcross and track progression. Not many of the bike photos came out. We need a track photographer if anyone is interested...I give up.. Also the really nice pics from Kenny at Awesome shots from the PeeWee race took, I have, but just can not get them to load. If anyone can I will email them to you and maybe you can get them up. They are vary goooooooooood. I hope to post our race sch. for the year really soon. I know everyone has been waiting. We just want the track tuned and tweaked before we get heavy into it. The weather as most of you know has not worked well with us in the last month, we have taken more than 14 inches of rain in 2 to 3 weeks. WOW enough already. You will continue to see the track change in the jumps, corners and straits as we tune it . The layout is done. We worked Sunday evening in the back and made some really neat changes on a up hill and done hill, Watch out its WILD. Lighting is going up in March by the way, the contractor has already begun aquiring the materials. I plan on racing ever Friday night. Yeah....And we do have the finally round of the Texas Series 32nd Annual June 27th, this will be hugh, you can expect 500 to 600 riders. Evo Vintage is May 2nd, this race is really neat, the riders have all the old bike from thye 60s, 70s 80s and 90s, also several modern clasess as well..You can find them at www.evovintage.com. Quads you guys race the 2nd Round of the STQRA Series race on March 7th, this will be big too guys...some of you riders who come out and ride should join STQRA at www.stqra.com that South Texas Quad Raccing Assoc. and compete. Youll have a blast
Thanks again guys and Keep it pinned....
Jeff

track response -- Tom Arthur, 22:39:52 01/23/04 Fri

Jeff, thanks again for the effort. You and I have talked at your track (#18 CR 250 2stroke) about the track, etc. Thanks for bringing to Houston a track with some length and speed. I know a year from now the track will be more in line with what you are thinking, etc. I would just recommend as you add to the track and make changes that you bear in mind that for this style track (speed/rough) it needs to be sufficiently wide. Some areas get a little cramped but not too much. I know your intent is to make it difficult by virtue of it being rough, so the more sand you can add into the dirt, the better the chances of that happening. I have only ridden out there twice now but feel it is helping me "attack" through the rough sections which will make any rider better. Especially since I'm 41 yrs. old. I plan on riding your track for extended practice sessions because I get a better workout and is letting me familiarize with the bike beter. It wouldn't hurt to lenghten some tabletops or stepups, etc. and if you do to make sure ample width is on them as well. Otherwise, add the sand and the torture and make it as nasty as you want!! Houston riders don't understand what square edged holes are like (Glen Helen!!) that develop from a smooth sand/intermediate terrain type track. I've had my hands knocked off the bars at Glen Helen due to that and your track has the best potential (in Houston) to have riders get used to something ilke that. A place like Cycle Ranch or Whitney gets plenty rough but they are 3 hours away. We need something local to be able to somewhat get ready for those tracks and hope your track fits the bill. This is now a long winded reply. Thanks again. Keep tillin' in the sand !!

Tom A.

Trails -- dabratatat, 12:35:40 01/16/04 Fri

Are there still going to be trails?? I tried to ride them Saturday and I'm new to the track. I kept ending up on the experience track. Is the experience track going to take up the trails?
