I grew up in Lombard, ILL (20 minutes from Hinsdale) and had several friends who frequented The Blue Village. At the time, there was so much great music being made that I believe we all thought it would go on forever...but, no. The uplifting tunes & optimistic lyrics of The Cryan' Shames were replaced by "music" without identifiable melodies and words that encourage conflict rather than harmony & brotherhood. Some rap lyrics actually promote males hitting women. I'm so glad Chicago's own Cryan' Shames are still around providing high quality songs. Best Wishes in 2010!
