I tried this onlinegame recently� And it uberpwnd! It's totally free & named Planetia ( www.planetia.net ).
It was just like playing good old planetarion again for those of you who tried it. Now they are starting a new round very soon, and I advice everyone to give it a go!

Signups for the new round of Planetia are currently OPEN! The game is tick based and it will start ticking at 18:00 on Monday the 6th of December!

This round the game is running 1 hour ticks with the usual excellent space based strategy with excellent game play and a very dedicated player community.
